A gorgeous, rich blue color, superb glassy luster, and no damage makes for a fine display specimen of this rare phosphate. Thin layers of limonite form the matrix for a sold mass of highly lustrous, deepest, dark blue lazulite, in crystals, to 1 cm in length. Gemmy areas in the crystals emit neon blue highlights, hard to convey in photos. While many plates of lazulite came out in the past, mostly from Rod Tyson himself, this is particularly fine for the size, and was one he kept back.
