This is a classic old German calcite from the Sauerland region, with blocky, transparent crystals to 2 cm in wonderful condition, on a dark, contrasting matrix. The trim job is just exquisite, exposing the crystals all around, with no contact or damage. The crystals have pretty striations on their faces, and fine luster. It has been around for quite some time; German calcites of this quality do not come around often.
