An unusually soft pastel blue color overlaying a lavender smithsonite base layer gives this large smithsonite plate a nice contrast. It is very lustrous and shimmering in the light. It has secondary growth of a sparkly blue microcrystalline layer, and in some places an odd white smithsonite layer. From the most significant collection of smithsonites from Refugio, a now defunct and closed mine: the Kerry Cooper collection of smithsonite, which sold to us earlier in 2013. Joe Budd Photos.
