A literal Jewel from San Diego! This is from the newest mine in San Diego county, and the glory zone they hit a few years ago in 2010-2011. It is a superb, nearly 57-carat, pear-shaped deep purple Kunzite from the Oceanview Mine. This is in the famous Pala District of southern California where Tiffany's and the Chinese Empress both sourced at the turn of the 1900's. The luster and rich saturated color make this a very fine stone - considering the size, quite significant as a USA gem. I obtained this directly from the mine owner, Jeff Swanger, some time ago. It is one of the finest cut gems from the mine to date.
