These epidote specimens are seemingly identical to the classic Alpine specimens from Europe, and in certain instances, have surpassed the European specimens for quality and gemminess. This particular specimen is a very sharp, highly lustrous, gemmy, coffee-brown to "root beer" to dark olive-green color crystal group with good pleochroism when strongly backlit and textbook "sword"-shaped form.
