Cobaltoan Calcites of this shocking hot pink color, and of this quality, came out only once during the production history of this mine in Wenshan, China, and specimens are few and far between. The elegant crystals and rich color stand out from all other finds here of pink scalenohedra and rhombohedra. This marvelous miniature is a lively neon-pink and is composed of numerous, disk-shaped, translucent, zoned crystals, some in parallel growth. This is a unique specimen in its impact, and literally looks like it was faked and dyed with hot pink hair color. But, it is real, and one of a very few that survived without damage and got to the specimen market. A stunning miniature.
