An excellent cabinet fluorite specimen from the famed Minerva #1 Mine of Southern Illinois. This lustrous, translucent, color-zoned crystal has the classic yellow core with vivid bands of blue and purple. The backlit photo highlights the distinctive and gorgeous color zoning. The frosted, striking stepped faces (especially the front) are sprinkled with sparkly chalcopyrite microcrystals. This piece is a near floater, with only a couple of points of attachment and the back holds a real bonus. Gemmy, colorless to light amber, calcite rhombs cover the back and one edge.
