This is an important display-quality small cabinet piece for the classic locality, featuring dramatic aesthetics compared to the jumbly mess these usually present as. Superbly emplaced on a galena matrix are doubly terminated, tabular, lustrous and translucent, orangey-yellow wulfenite crystals, to 4 cm across. Many of the crystal edges are encrusted with a secondary coating of calcite for a unique accent I have not seen often on these specimens. The large central crystal is dominant and perfect, which is remarkable. I really like the way a smaller wulfenite crystal has bifurcated the largest one to add some depth and geometry, as well. The luster is high, the geometry is outstanding... it is hard to find a better one in such a size range. This was likely collected in the 1960s, I was told.
