A very rare specimen from the type locality for cavansite. These significant specimens were found in the early 1960s and have not been found, so far as I know, in decades. An attractive plate of beautiful Cavansite crystals with Stilbite and possibly Heulandite. The Cavansites are either in small lustrous balls or in flat radial growths that look like Morning Glories. Really, these small mineral "flowers" (from 1-1.5 mm) are quite spectacular aesthetically. First described in 1973, the Owyhee Dam Cavansites were the be-all and end-all until the great Indian discoveries of the late 1980's. Therefore, in addition to nice aesthetics, this piece has great historical importance.
