A rich old-timer from the 1970's or early 1980s's, this is a classic and major pocket for the species, represented here by a gorgeous central cluster of robust crystals. An earthy, yellow crust of beaverite, an uncommon lead, copper, iron sulfate, forms the matrix for lustrous and translucent, emerald-green crystals of cuprian adamite, to 1.3 cm in length. They radiate from the beaverite aesthetically, and have high luster. Few adamites from Tsumeb attain this color saturation, luster, and aesthetics. The crystals, to 1.5 cm, are sharp and glassy instead of the usual dull finish many green adamites have. The green color here is the most saturated green color you can ask in a cuprian adamite from Tsumeb. As far as I know, this style was found in only ONE single pocket, several decades ago. Overall, the piece is bright and sparkly, and features the superb dominant crystal right in the middle.
