This is an outstanding specimen of goethite as it originates from Cornwall! This small cabinet specimen is embellished with a profuse amount of large, adamantine, gray, very distinct crystals of goethite in divergent clusters. The striated, submetallic, prismatic crystals range up to nearly a centimeter and cover most of the specimen! A great piece with rare habit for the species from any locality, but in particular it is highly uncommon from Cornwall. This is probably from the 1700s or 1800s, though the history has been lost. It came to use from an old collection which had no labels released, but was confident of the locale.
