A stunning, gem, seafoam-blue-green crystal of Aquamarine from Medina in the Jequitinhonha River Valley in Minas Gerais state. Aquamarines from this famous Brazilian pegmatite locality are known for their gemminess, intense color and complex etching patterns. This stately Aquamarine measures almost three inches in length and has a nearly parallel sidecar crystal at the base just over an inch long. The Aqua is transparent throughout its length except near the base where it is just a little cloudy. It has a tapered, complex termination that provides great aesthetics and the complex faces reflect any incident light. All of the crystal faces and edges are sharply formed and most exhibit some etching locally that enhances the appeal of this piece along with the intricate geometry of the termination. This literally-gem crystal has a mass of 29.4 grams.
