Distinctive combination piece from the Brumado Mine in Brazil. The mine has produced outstanding Uvites in the past, as well as very fine Dolomites, but rarely do you find them together. The Uvite is the 2.6 cm-wide termination of a once larger crystal. It appears jet black but it has flashes of wine-red and green, and the crystal is quite lustrous. Attached is a superb 2.8 cm gemmy Dolomite with silky faces. There is some contacting along one of the smaller edges, but it does not effect the overall aesthetics, which are quite good. A rare and attractive small cabinet specimen.
