A fine, old-time, pseudomorph miniature from the famous Ilfeld area. Lustrous and grey-black, the Hausmannite has pseudomorphed a dense, jackstraw cluster of sharp Manganite crystals. The largest of these pseudos are over 2 cm. Uncommon and excellent classic material from this locality. These old pieces came out in about 1865-1890 (per the excellent 2010 Ilfeld article in The Mineralogical Record). Replacements such as this are very rare.
