Extremely fine (and rare for the species) hexagonal crystals sitting on a lovely drusy matrix (more strontianite?), all perched atop large magnesite crystals... Rarely do you see Strontianite in this habit and these sharp lustrous crystals with such a soft creamy color make you wish it was more common. This remarkable piece was in the Ed David collection, though my friend here trimmed it down from its previous incarnation as a big clunker into this well-balanced miniature. It is sawed on the back and bottom, but that doesn't show from the display face 5.6 x 3.5 x 3.5 cm
