The original pink calcite crystals here have been pseudomorphed by glimmering, snowy-white dolomite, perfectly retaining the sharp faces of the calcites. Some of the calcites are actually etched out from the inside of the pseudomorphs, so they are hollow now; you can see this from the one crystal that is incomplete at the edge of the specimen (lower left in photo).
