This is an outstanding matrix specimen of cobalt-rich pink calcite, that features a superbly formed, doubly terminated, lustrous and translucent scalenohedron, measuring 3.2 cm in length. This mining district has clearly produced the world's finest cobaltoan calcite specimens. This would be from the 1980s and is perhaps the best thumbnail I can recall seeing of the material, for combination of quality, shape, and color on matrix. It is superb in every way, and an important competitive-level specimen that stands above so many.
