This amazing miniature is surely one of the world's great display-quality specimens for the species. It consists of 4 doubly-terminated crystals in a cluster, the largest measuring 3 x 2 x 2 cm. The color is outstanding, very near the best you can ask for in weloganite and extremely uncommon in larger specimens and crystals. The luster is typical of better material of this species: a sort of waxy medium luster. It dates from the famous find of colorful, large weloganites by Dr. Don Doell of approximately 30 years ago. The arborescent cluster is 3-dimensional and entirely complete all around, freestanding on just a spare amount of matrix. Given the significance of the specimen, and its unique beauty, I have no problem with a very clean contact-repair necessary to reattach the large crystal to the two crystals beneath it in the heap.
