An extremely impressive (for Afghanistan especially) 4.3-cm emerald crystal in schist matrix! The crystal has fine bright green color, and is transparent-to-translucent for its entire length. It has fine luster, and is complete and undamaged. It displays beautifully, since it was trimmed to extend past the matrix (some schist was kept at the upper termination in order to keep both terminations intact and undamaged). A superb locality gem crystal specimen!
