A HUGE and BEAUTIFUL, fire-orange crocoite crystal from Tasmania. This gorgeous, large crystal has outstanding chatoyancy and is very nicely striated. The termination was contacted against the pocket wall and is not damaged, per se. Sharply terminated and perfect crocoite crystals of this size and quality first came out in the 1970s. Collectors and dealers were astounded by their size. This is a large and very fine representation of this desirable species and is not fragile, like most crocoites are. Ex. George Elling Collection.
