It is truly amazing to discover a beautiful new mineral species in today's world, in crystals that can reach several centimeters. This is exactly what happened in the early 1990s with the discovery and naming of Szenicsite, a one-locality, very rare copper molybdate with vibrant green color. This was the only major find of the species, and not even a trickle of good specimens followed the first few pockets collected by Terry Szenics. All good specimens came through him. This is excellent material with a lamellar cluster of bladed, lustrous, electric-green crystals. And --- this piece also has rare, translucent cuprian-powellite crystals. The beautiful dark apple-green color and wet-look luster are both superb. Excellent yellow fluorescence. An exceptional combination thumbnail for this material found only at this remote locality in a few pockets over 10 years ago. Collected by Skip Szenics.
