Although common enough on the market, Cobalt-rich calcite with a hot pink color from China is often more pink, than what I would call "neon pink" in saturation. This came out probably around 2010, and has the hottest pink hue I have yet seen from extensive travel and purchasing in Southern China of the minerals from the karst deposits down there. Color, luster, and aesthetic shape combine to make this an important display specimen that simply leaps out of any case. I purchased this specimen in China many years ago, and long kept it for the shocking intensity of the color, though I try to be disciplined for my own collection and keep only larger Chinese pieces.
