These fascinating specimens formed when gemmy calcite crystals grew in the natural pockets formed by buried fossil clamshells. The interior of the shells now contain fine, gemmy, golden crystals. Not many fine collector specimens come from Florida, of course! Here is most of a shell, with fine tooth-like crystals sticking up on one side. 7.5 x 6 x 3.5 cm
