This Trap Rock locality is one of the most impressive (and under appreciated) Zeolite localities in the world. This quarry has produced some amazing specimens in the last 100 years. One of the unique aspects of Prospect Park is the fact that the basalt didn't form in "pillow lavas" like those at the New Street Quarry. This particular specimen consists of beautiful water-green color spheres of Prehnite sitting atop a layer of very dark green Pumpellyite (creating the famous "Blue Prehnite" effect) on basalt. There are also a few "casts" of Prehnite after Anhydrite on the specimen as well. A nice big cabinet specimen from this well known locality in northern New Jersey.
