When it comes to Dioptase, there is no locality greater or more prolific than Tsumeb for quality and quantity. This specimen exhibits the top emerald-green color that made these specimens so famous. The crystals themselves are in very good condition, and the luster is top-notch. The Dioptases are gemmy enough to show the brilliant green fire that is so eye-catching, so much so that it can even be seen in the photos. The final touch to these sharp, lustrous trigonal crystals is the fact that they are sitting on a matrix of white Calcite rhombs, which is one of the most highly desired of Dioptase combinations because of the splendid color contrast. The Calcite is even fluorescent. An excellent, aesthetic miniature.
