Calcite
Complex, crazy lustrous, stepped, parallel growth rhombohedral Calcite crystal from the Wessels Mine in the KMF! Yes, this is actually one, large, complicated and water-clear Calcite in which the mosaic of what appear to be intergrown individual crystals represent stepped growth of one single crystal that are in sync with all the rhombohedral faces flashing in unison as the piece is rotated in incident light! It's so transparent you can see right through to the matrix that contains scintillating microcrystals of Hematite and granular Calcite. Ex. Charlie Key collection.
