Manganoan calcite from the San Juan Mountains of Colorado is renowned for its "neon-pink" fluorescent calcite. This superb cabinet spray of pristine, translucent, intergrown, pastel-pink calcite scalenohedrons is from the Treasury Tunnel, which was connected to the Idarado Mine. The mine closed in 1978, so this is undoubtedly older material. Ex. Jamie Bird Collection.
