The Tsumeb Mine, considered the greatest mine of them all, is renowned for its Dioptase/Calcite combinations. Here, the gorgeous, emerald-green Dioptase crystals drape themselves over and around the white crystalline rhombs of Calcite. These Dioptases are gemmy and lustrous, little sugary gems in their own right, and the well-formed Calcites reach up to 1.3 cm on edge. Naturally, the piece is contacted in the back, but the presentation side is excellent. The association of emerald-green Dioptase on white Calcite is one of the combinations that every collector wants to own, and this aesthetic thumbnail brings both beauty and interesting form. The only thumbnail example of quality I have seen, of this particular unique style , that is balanced and worthy as a competitive thumbnail aside from bein gjust "small" in size. It is special, and in person sparkles in a way hard to convey.
