One of the most beautiful such specimens I have seen over the years, the fat and 3-dimensional crystals on this specimen stand up much more from matrix than most. A shallow concave vug is lined with highly lustrous, indigo blue, crystals of lazulite, to 1.3 cm in length. Several crystals are gemmy enough to emit a rich blue hue. It is not too dark, as so many are. Neither is it too light in color, for us as collectors. The crystals really leap out, thus. Minor peripheral contact is present but does not overwhelm the specimen. The display area is sparkling, glassy, and unusually pristine. The crystals have more of a 3-dimensional look to them than most such specimen. An exceptional piece from the Rod Tyson collection, collected by him several years ago.
