A very aesthetic combination specimen from the famous Yaogangxian Mine of China. A 2.7 cm, water-clear quartz spear is beautifully nestled amongst contrasting, lustrous, very sharp, tetragonal, coppery-colored freibergite crystals on a box-work matrix of pearlescent, opalized quartz. A really cute combination specimen. The freibergite was X-rayed by the University of Arizona to confirm it mineralogy. Freibergite is an uncommon sulfosalt and this is a very FINE example of the species from this locality.
