A striking, 7.1 cm, gemmy and lustrous, doubly terminated, golden-amber calcite is jauntily perched on silicified limestone matrix covered with smaller calcite crystals on this aesthetic specimen from the Sweetwater Mine of Missouri's Viburnum Trend. Some of the crystal faces are nicely striated and a distinctive interior phantom is visible on the backside of this beautiful, large calcite crystal. A sprinkling of iridescent chalcopyrites is also noted. Mined in 1997, according to the accompanying dealer label. Choice material from the George Feist Collection.
