These elbaites were first mined in the mid to late 1980's and were found in profusion. One must look diligently to find this quality in today's market - and this would have been a stellar miniature even at the time they came out! This translucent, doubly terminated elbaite is multi-hued, grading from pink to dark green, to light green, to a thin colorless rim. It measures 4.5 cm in length and is aesthetically surrounded by bladed stark white, albite. Most such specimens are larger - there are very few, especially complete doubly-terminated crystals in matrix, of miniature size. I think I can really say that this HAS to be among the best miniatures, period, for the find. To this day, this pocket remains memorable and unique in its aspect. 4.6 x 4.2 x 2.4 cm
