This is one of the larger wulfenite specimens of high quality, preserved from several seasons of digging in the remote mountainous region of this northern Chinese autonomous zone. This specimen resembles San Francisco Mine wulfenite in style, but with a red color more similar to Red Cloud mine material. Multiple styles were produced from this mine over the course of 2-3 years, and all were released to market recently as a lot which reflects this period of mining many small pockets of varying styles. This specimen is really dramatic in its display, with the large blades literally jumping out at you, and has perhaps the mos tundamaged large crystals of any in my lots. There is, admittedly, some very minor damage - expected with such a large wulfenite specimen. But, its either peripheral or very minor in context. For this style, this is one of the best such pieces out of approximately 200 specimens I have purchased over the last few months, and clearly one of the 2 best large specimens of this style. We DO NOT expect a lot more of this material to surface, at least in the near future. It really seems as if the supply is limited and the terrain difficult to take them out of. For size and condition, this 3-dimensional large piece SHOULD retain a special position in the heierarchy of what was found.
