This Trap Rock locality is one of the most impressive (and under appreciated) localities in the world. This quarry has produced some amazing specimens in the last 100 years. One of the unique aspects of Prospect Park is the fact that the basalt didn't form in "pillow lavas" like those at the New Street Quarry. This particular specimen is a great, display piece consisting of light green, spherical aggregates Prehnite forming a tubular cast after Anhydrite associated with minor Stilbite and Laumontite. A great small cabinet from this historic locality.
