This remarkable single gem crystal is a totally transparent floater, complete all around, from the famous old pegmatites of Alto Ligonha in Mozambique. Material from this remote location hit the market for gems first, and relatively very few crystals of cutting grade were saved for specimen sales. Pala Intl was active in the gem trade and obtained many such unusual crystals in the 1970s-1980s, of which this fine miniature was kept for the company beryl collection at that time. It comes with an old showcase display label. The crystal is 15.6 grams, complete, doubly-terminated, a floater. It also is all natural, never having been to a lab for cleaning (which would remove slight traces of iron staining you see).
