A very impressive specimen of old Missouri marcasite! The crystals are large, wide and elongated, and most are complete. Marcasite is usually seen as an accessory mineral in the form of microcrystals, and occurrences of large, distinct crystals such as these (to 4 cm) are quite uncommon.
