Calcite
Finds of collector-quality mineral specimens have been rare in Wisconsin, and this is a large and fine specimen from one of the most exciting in decades. These superb, sharp scalenohedrons of calcite contain phantoms demarcated by minute pyrite (the pyrite coated the crystals during an earlier stage of growth, and then growth continued, engulfing the earlier crystal with its pyrite coating). Collected in 1993-1994 from a unique one-time find there.
