A very rich brazilianite specimen from any location on earth except Brazil itself. This is an important specimen for this particular locality as well. Lustrous, creamy-yellow crystals fill the vug in pegmatite matrix, which includes muscovite. Bob Whitmore obtained this piece from the C. Ford Collection in 1984 and it has remained in his collection ever since. He told me it is one of the better pieces he knows of from this very uncommon New England locality and is thus valued highly. For a US example, it's outstanding, but for one from this mine, it is excellent and it becomes an important US rarity.
