An unusual and SUPERB specimen, collected in 1995 during pillar-robbing on the Bethel Level of the Minerva Mine. Rarely documented from this location, the doubly-terminated, straw-like Calcite clusters reach up to 3 cm tip to tip, and they rest on dusty-purple Fluorites. Associated with these is a thin coating (or alteration from the calcite?) of Paralstonite, for which this is the Type Locality (see MINDAT: http://www.mindat.org/min-3097.html). The pics, I think, tell much of the story here: fantastic aesthetics and form - it is good on any merit. Plus, rarity is a bonus. RCL 1967
