Clearly a major plate, featuring varying shaped fingers of prehnite to 5 cm in length, this specimen is pristine and 3-dimensional with a superb sculpted appearance. The largest crystal, though, shows the straight lines of the anhydrite replacement more closely and preserves the original crystal habit with better fidelity. The prehnite has super luster, translucence, and a fine light apple-green color. Additionally, a few lustrous and translucent, colorless crystals of calcite, to 1.5 cm in length, are perched up on one edge of the specimen. Evidence can be seen of hollow casts after anhydrite on the bottom of the specimen, showing how the prehnites developed by casting or as an overgrowth upon those original anhydrites. The piece overall is extremely dramatic and showy, and the variety and 3-D nature of the different crystal habits is appealing in person - quite different than others here in its variety of forms, I think.
