Mordenite (Hydrated Calcium Sodium Potassium Aluminum Silicate) is one of the more rare minerals of the zeolite group. Here, from the famous zeolite locality of Jalgaon is an incredibly huge and rich, and even rather pretty, specimen of this rare mineral. This amazing mordenite ball measures 8.5 cm across. It is intergrown with a smaller ball, also pristine. The mordenite sits on a carefully trimmed-out matrix of pale stilbite.
