Orange creedite from Mexico is abundant on the market today from more modern finds - however, fine purple creedite, like this, is far less available. These were found only a few times more than 20 years ago (from time of posting in 2016.) This matrix specimen features rich purple colored creedite crystals to 2.2 cm in length, lustrous and translucent, totally covering one side of this plate. It is from the F John Barlow collection (#3459) and he had among the best of them at one time. Many of these are pale, but this has a very rich and top color saturation.
