This specimen is a rare mix of the two varieties of vesuvianite from Jeffrey Mine, now defunct as a locality. The purple or manganoan variety is dominant, but contrasted and perched on green vesuvianite, the more classic sort. This rich nodule is almost complete-all-around. It is extremely lustrous, as if it were made of sugar, and as such, while the crystals may not be large, is certainly among the prettier specimens of the material in this style.
