Once quite plentiful during the heyday of the Broken Hill Mines in New South Wales, Australia, today these fine, reticulated cerussites from this location are extremely rare. This sharply twinned specimen features one crystal that reaches 6.1 cm in length and forms a "V" with other members. The crystals are primarily milky-colored with good luster and translucence. They are unusually fine in aesthetics for this locale. Contrasting beautifully with the milky color is an encrustation of a manganese oxide (alabandite). Very minor contact has occurred to one of the smaller crystals but this pales with the context of this old classic specimen. Ex. Larry Conklin collection.
