Tanzanite singles are widely available of different qualities, sizes, colors...but matrix associated tanzanite crystals are somewhat rare. This piece is a fine, natural, intensely colored tanzanite crystal with a sharp calcite crystal perched atop it like a piece of candy! The calcite is complete all around, 1.5 cm across. It serves as a perfect accent atop the shiny termination, set back enough to accent the sharp and blue tip without enveloping or detracting. Note the color in this tanzanite is natural, as you can clearly see red reflections, indicating it has not been heat treated to enhance the blue.
