This superb, large, deep red, nicely terminated, Chinese Cinnabar crystal is an astonishing 3.6 cm in length and 1.7 cm in width. It is pristine. This red gem of a piece is actually composed of four Cinnabar crystals in parallel growth and there is one small side car crystal at the base off to one side. This piece is an intense carmine red and translucent with great luster for the species! It is even more impressive when backlit. It is without a doubt one of the finest Cinnabar miniature/toenail specimens I have seen for sale and it originates from the Steve Smale collection of very fine minerals and is accompanied by his label. He acquired it in the 1990s.
