An oustanding floater cluster of stilbite, with aesthetics and balance, pristine and sparkling. This is one of the best quality stilbites I have seen from this important old locale! In the 1700s and 1800s, Faeroe stilbite was all the rage, and unmatched by samples from elsewhere. Few documented specimens survive today. This is as good as any I have seen, and of display quality and full miniature size, to boot. It comes with an antique, brittle old AMNH label showing the Faerroes as belonging to Iceland, by which you can date it to the mid-1800s. Ex. American Museum of Natural History, Clarence Bement collection, donated in 1910
