This piece stands so far above most others of its kind, that it really has been for many years my single favorite piece for the locality that I have known about, in any collection. The piece features a stunning electric green-yellow crystal the color of a good brazilianite, measuring 2.25 inches tall and with GLASSY luster. Matrix apatites from here are really rare, and generally older material from the 1960s-70s era of mining here. I have only seen a few of anything near this caliber, but still rank this one aesthetically the best of them. I know its tempting to dismiss this as simply an "overpriced apatite" but, honestly, its a very special case where the mineral transcends its commonness as a species and IS a world class specimen by any standard even aside from the value for the locality itself.
