The San Francisco Mine is justifiably famous for its beautiful Wulfenite and Mimetite combinations. This toenail is a classic specimen for there, featuring glassy, windowpane Wulfenites and rich, orange balls of Mimetite. The largest Wulfenite is 2.1 cm, and the Mimetites average 1-2 mm across. The aesthetics are outstanding. This is the best color contrast, from the 1973 pocket which really put this mine on the map for specimen collectors and has remained an iconic pocket and style ever since. Purchased from dealer Willard Perkin in 1973, November. Note that in person, from a short distance, the piece looks undamaged. The piece is gorgeous on a shelf and please note that these photos are taken close up and purposefully accentuate a few small dings on the edges that are not as readily apparent to the eye, in person. I do believe this can be mailed safely, though I would suggest it should not ship internationally without arranging for hand delivery.
