This is a superb small cabinet sized specimen with a sharp, water-clear, aqua-blue crystal of aquamarine perched totally vertical and emerging from a mass of crystallized albite matrix. The aquamarine is itself 4 cm tall. It is complete, and terminated, though has a weird growth asymmetry/indentation atop which accents the normally flat and typical termination. This crystal has a micro-thin layer of secondary aquamarine crystallization over the surface of the crystal, giving it, in person, a slightly frosted and sugary appearance which is unusual. Ex. Dr. Stephen Smale Collection.
